Jienny Lee, Keum Sil Lee, Chan-Lan Kim, Jeong Su Byeon, Na-Yeon Gu, In-Soo Cho, Sang-Ho Cha 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 2호 3 141-148 (8 pages)
Research into adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) has demonstrated the feasibility of their use in clinical applications due to their ease of isolation and abundance in adipose tissue. We isolated AD-MSCs from young and old dogs, and the cells were subjected to sequential sub-passaging from passage 1 (P1) to P7. Canine AD-MSCs (cAD-MSCs) were examined for proliferation kinetics, expression of molecules associated with self-renewal, expression of cell surface markers, and... -
Apoptosis in response to heat stress is positively associated with heat-shock protein 90 expression in chicken myocardial cells in vitro
Xiao-Hui Zhang, Hong Wu, Shu Tang, Qiao-Ning Li, Jiao Xu, Miao Zhang, Ya-Nan Su, Bin Yin, Qi-Ling Zhao, Nicole Kemper, Joerg Har 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 12 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 2호 2 129-140 (12 pages)
To determine heat-shock protein (Hsp)90 expression is connected with cellular apoptotic response to heat stress and its mechanism, chicken (Gallus gallus) primary myocardial cells were treated with the Hsp90 promoter, aspirin, and its inhibitor, geldanamycin (GA), before heat stress. Cellular viability, heat-stressed apoptosis and reactive oxygen species level under different treatments were measured, and the expression of key proteins of the signaling pathway related to Hsp90 and their... -
Inflammation affects the viability and plasticity of equine mesenchymal stem cells: possible implications in intra-articular treatments
Laura Barrachina, Ana Rosa Remacha, Antonio Romero, Francisco Jos? V?zquez, Jorge Albareda, Marta Prades, Beatriz Ranera, Pilar 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 11 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 1호 6 39-49 (11 pages)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are gaining relevance for treating equine joint injuries because of their ability to limit inflammation and stimulate regeneration. Because inflammation activates MSC immunoregulatory function, proinflammatory priming could improve MSC efficacy. However, inflammatory molecules present in synovial fluid or added to the culture medium might have deleterious effects on MSCs. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of inflammatory synovial fluid... -
Uracil-DNA glycosylase-treated reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification for rapid detection of avian influenza virus preventing carry-over contamination
Eun-Mi Kim, Hyo-Sung Jeon, Ji-Jung Kim, Yeun-Kyung Shin, Youn-Jeong Lee, Sang-Geon Yeo, Choi-Kyu Park 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 3호 21 421-425 (5 pages)
Here, we describe a uracil-DNA glycosylase (UNG)-treated reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (uRT-LAMP) for the visual detection of all subtypes of avian influenza A virus (AIV). The uRT-LAMP assay can prevent unwanted amplification by carryover contamination of the previously amplified DNA, although the detection limit of the uRT-LAMP assay is 10-fold lower than that of the RT-LAMP without a UNG treatment. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first successful... -

대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 7 53-61 (9 pages)
This study was conducted to investigate whether agmatine (AGM) provides protection against oxidative stress induced by treatment with chlorpromazine (CPZ) in Wistar rats. In addition, the role of reactive oxygen species and efficiency of antioxidant protection in the brain homogenates of forebrain cortexes prepared 48 h after treatment were investigated. Chlorpromazine was applied intraperitoneally (i.p.) in single dose of 38.7 mg/kg body weight (BW) The second group was treated with both CPZ... -
N-acetylcysteine protects against cadmium-induced oxidative stress in rat hepatocytes
Jicang Wang, Huali Zhu, Xuezhong Liu, Zongping Liu, 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 4호 4 485-493 (9 pages)
Cadmium (Cd) is a well-known hepatotoxic environmental pollutant. We used rat hepatocytes as a model to study oxidative damage induced by Cd, effects on the antioxidant systems, and the role of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) in protecting cells against Cd toxicity. Hepatocytes were incubated for 12 and 24 h with Cd (2.5, 5, 10 μM). Results showed that Cd can induce cytotoxicity: 10 μM resulted in 36.2% mortality after 12 h and 47.8% after 24 h. Lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate... -

Hee-Jin Dong, Ae-Ri Cho, Tae-Wook Hahn, Seongbeom Cho* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 2호 19 317-325 (9 pages)
A multiplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification (mLAMP) assay was developed for simultaneous detection of the stx1 and stx2 genes and applied for detection of shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) in cattle farm samples. Two target genes were distinguished based on Tm values of 85.03 ± 0.54C for stx1 and 87.47 ± 0.35C for stx2. The mLAMP assay was specific (100% inclusivity and exclusivity), sensitive (with a detection limit as low as 10 fg/μL), and quantifiable (R = 0.9313). The... -
A simplified one-step nuclear transfer procedure alters the gene expression patterns and developmental potential of cloned porcine embryos
Sang Kyu Park, Sangho Roh*, Jong-Im Park* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 1호 8 73-80 (8 pages)
Various somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) techniques for mammalian species have been developed to adjust species-specific procedures to oocyte-associated differences among species. Species-specific SCNT protocols may result in different expression levels of developmentally important genes that may affect embryonic development and pregnancy. In the present study, porcine oocytes were treated with demecolcine that facilitated enucleation with protruding genetic material. Enucleation and donor... -

Dae Young Yoo, Woosuk Kim, Dae Won Kim, Sung Min Nam, Hyo Young Jung, Jong Whi Kim, Choong Hyun Lee, Jung Hoon Choi, Moo-Ho Won, 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 1호 3 27-33 (7 pages)
In this study, we determined how rosiglitazone (RSG) differentially affected hippocampal neurogenesis in mice fed a low-fat diet (LFD) or high-fat diet (HFD; 60% fat). LFD and HFD were given to the mice for 8 weeks. Four weeks after initiating the LFD and HFD feeding, vehicle or RSG was administered orally once a day to both groups of mice. We measured cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation in the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus using Ki67 and doublecortin (DCX), respectively,... -
Sequential alterations of glucocorticoid receptors in the hippocampus of STZ-treated type 1 diabetic rats
Jae Hoon Shin, Je Kyung Seong, Sun Shin Yi* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 1호 2 19-26 (8 pages)
Type 1 diabetes is a common metabolic disorder accompanied by increased blood glucose levels along with glucocorticoid and cognitive deficits. The disease is also thought to be associated with environmental changes in brain and constantly induces oxidative stress in patients. Therefore, glucocorticoid-mediated negative feedback mechanisms involving the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) binding site are very important to understand the development of this disease. Many researchers have used...
