and separated out interpersonal and media cues from external cues. Path analysis of 992 representative Korean adult samples in the context of tuberculosis (TB) revealed three major findings: (1) Interpersonal and (2) media cues are related to TB screening intention directly and indirectly through perceived threat; (3) perceived threat, but not perceived evaluation of action, is significantly related to TB screening intention. Theoretical and practical implications for our findings are discussed. -

Grace Keengwe 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 22 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.3 1 1-22 (22 pages)
While assessment is key in every field of learning, how it is accomplished determines the outcome. The early childhood grades present a challenge as children are young and of different abilities. There isn’t a standard way early childhood programs are required to measure assessment and many programs use varied assessment approaches. Thus, information on if teachers do actually collect data and how they use that data is lacking in assessment research of early childhood programs. This study... -

There is currently no reliable information on the number of children with disabilities across the globe due to differences in terminology, child find systems, and available of psychometrically sound assessment tools to identify children timely. This literature review examines the extant literature related to assessment methods used for identification of children for early intervention/early childhood special education (EI/ECSE) services in four settings: China, Singapore, Taiwan, and Turkey.... -

In Australia, over one third of all children in Early Childhood programs speak a first language other than English. Despite considerable work into teachers’ beliefs on cultural diversity, attention to aspects of second language acquisition in the Early Years has been limited within the Early Childhood field. This paper reports on a small study investigating how four early childhood educators understand theory of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and bilingualism, and how they cater for... -

In Singapore, many parents find it difficult to locate early childhood services for their children with special needs. As Singapore does not have laws protecting the right to education for children with special needs, early childhood center administrators (managers and principals) make admission decisions at their own discretion on a case-by-case basis. This qualitative interview study examines the individual, varied patterns of early childhood center administrators’ admission decision making...
