Chuanmei Dong 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 27 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2016, Vol.10 No.3 5 97-123 (27 pages)

And EC teachers need to develop effective pedagogies that can support the children’s learning with and through the use of ICT. -

in Korea for three months through participatory observations, interviews with the participants, and written materials. We found that roleplay activities functioned as a medium to foster the children’s emergent understanding of racial diversity, equality, and social justice, and to reduce their racial prejudice toward different racial groups. The findings of the study suggest how teachers should prepare and what they should provide and implement in order to help young children develop unbiased... -

planes of analysis. We found that these children lived in technology-rich environments, however strongly held values and beliefs associated with academic learning resulted in the creation of family rules and practices that limited children’s access to, and use of, different technologies. We argue that an understanding of family values, beliefs, practices and culture will assist educators to build partnerships effectively with families, and enhance learning opportunities for young children. -

Carol Murphy 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 21 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2015, Vol.9 No.3 2 5-25 (21 pages)
case is made for the importance of deductive reasoning in supporting inductive reasoning and for the potential of hypothetical deductive reasoning in supporting concept reification in early number. The children’s discourse is analysed using a framework based on opinion/belief, plausibility and deductive reasoning schema in relation to the functional use of actuality and modality linguistic terms. The analysis suggests that the children were able to transition to deductive reasoning and this was... -

encourages risk-taking and builds resilience through problem solving. The collaborative achievement of the activities between the pre- school teacher and the fouryear- old children are discussed as an important and necessary aspect of the interactions, which we suggest may represent physical sustained shared thinking, for supporting wellbeing whilst building resilience and risk-taking. Implications for future practice are considered with regard to implementation of early childhood curricula. -

Long ago, Filipino games have been part of the Filipino pastime. These games, being cooperative by nature, seem to promote close social relationships in the family, in school and in the community. But nowadays, Filipino children rarely play these games. This action research aimed to find out how teaching Filipino games... -
