Seroprevalence and associated risk factors of pseudorabies in Shandong province of China
Dongfang Hu, Lin Lv, Zhendong Zhang, Yihong Xiao, Sidang Liu 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 3호 13 361-368 (8 pages)
serum sample seroprevalence were observed in western Shandong, followed northern Shandong. Based on univariate analysis, the following risk factors were utilized in subsequent multivariable logistic regression analysis: region, herd size, weight of purchased gilts, and all-in/all-out practice. Upon multivariate analysis, region, herd size, weight of purchased gilts and all-in/all-out practice were significantly associated with PRV herd seropositivity. These findings indicate that we are facing a... -
SNP genetic polymorphisms of MDR-1, CYP1A2 and CYPB11 genes in four canine breeds upon toxicological evaluation
Rosa Gagliardi, Silvia Llambí, M. Victoria Arruga 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2015, 제 16권 제 3호 4 273-280 (8 pages)
The fields of pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics have become increasingly promising regarding the clinical application of genetic data to aid in prevention of adverse reactions. Specific screening tests can predict which animals express modified proteins or genetic sequences responsible for adverse effects associated with a drug. Among the genetic variations that have been investigated in dogs, the multidrug resistance gene (MDR) is the best studied. However, other genes such as CYP1A2 and... -
Seroprevalence and risk factors for bovine brucellosis in Jordan
Ahmad M. Al-Majali*, Abdelsalam Q. Talafha, Mustafa M. Ababneh, Mohammed M. Ababneh 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages

collected from 62 herds. The antibodies against Brucella were detected using a Rose Bengal plate test and indirect ELISA. A structured questionnaire was used to collect information on the cattle herds' health and management. A multiple logistic regression model was constructed to identify the risk factors for Brucella seropositivity. The true prevalence of antibodies against Brucella in individual cows and cattle herds was 6.5% and 23%, respectively. The seroprevalence of brucellosis in cows... -
Seroprevalence of low pathogenic avian influenza (H9N2) and associated risk factors in the Gyeonggi-do of Korea during 2005-2006
Jong-Tae Woo, Bong Kyun Park* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2008, 제 9권 제 2호 6 161-168 (8 pages)
Between November 2005 and March 2006, a total of 253 poultry flocks in the Gyeonggi-do of Korea were examined for seroprevalence against avian influenza (AI) using a hemagglutination inhibition (HI) test and an agar gel precipitation test. No low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) virus was isolated from 47 seropositive flocks that lacked clinical signs during sampling. The unadjusted percentage of seroprevalence rates of layer and broiler flocks were not significantly different, i.e., 26%... -
Successful introduction of modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia in a bovine referral center
Miho Hiraoka, Toshiharu Miyagawa, Hayato Kobayashi, Toshihiko Takahashi, Hiroaki Kishi, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Inhyung Lee 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 2호 13 181-184 (4 pages)
This study describes the successful use of modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia with a fixed volume of anesthetic in a bovine referral center. Among the 130 Holstein cattle scheduled for flank surgery, 90 cattle received a mixed anesthetic consisting of 1 ml of xylazine hydrochloride and 3 ml of lidocaine hydrochloride by modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia. Eighteen cattle with dehydration and/or lameness received a mixed anesthetic containing 0.5 ml of xylazine and 3 ml of lidocaine.... -
Practical tips for modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia in cattle
Inhyung Lee, Norio Yamagishi, Kenji Oboshi, Naoki Sasaki, Haruo Yamada 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2006, 제 7권 제 1호 12 69-72 (4 pages)
Segmental dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia has been considered difficult to perform. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not it is difficult for beginners to learn how to do modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia of cattle. Thirty cattle were divided into two groups, young (n = 8) and adult (n = 22), according to their age and body weight, and 0.12% new methylene blue (NMB) was injected into the first interlumbar (L1?L2) epidural space by four fifth-year veterinary school... -
Mutation and overexpression of p53 as a prognostic factor in canine mammary tumors
Chung-Ho Lee, Wan-Hee Kim, Ji-Hey Lim, Min-Soo Kang, Dae-Yong Kim and Oh-Kyeong Kweon 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2004, 제 5권 제 1호 9 63-69 (7 pages)
= 0.5, p < 0.05). In Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, the p53 index was associated with significantly shortened survival time (p < 0.01). In multivariate analysis, p53 overexpression was only an independent factor for indicator of worse prognosis in canine mammary tumors (p = 0.01). These results demonstrated that p53 gene mutations and protein overexpression using the PAb240 anti-p53 antibody were useful predictors of increased malignant potential and poor prognosis in canine mammary tumors. -
