대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 1호 6 35-43 (9 pages)
Rotavirus (RV)-infected piglets are presumed to be latent sources of heterologous RV infection in humans and other animals. In RVs, non-structural protein 4 (NSP4) is the major virulence factor with pleiotropic properties. In this study, we analyzed the nsp4 gene from porcine RVs isolated from diarrheic and non-diarrheic cases at different levels of protein folding to explore correlations to diarrhea-inducing capabilities and evolution of nsp4 in the porcine population. Full-length nsp4 genes... -
Coactosin-like protein 1 inhibits neuronal migration during mouse corticogenesis
Guohong Li, Yupeng Yin, Jiong Chen, Yanle Fan, Juhong Ma, Yingxue Huang, Chen Chen, Pengxiu Dai, Shulin Chen, Shanting Zhao 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 1호 4 21-26 (6 pages)
study, we revealed that Cotl1 overexpression impaired migrationof both early- and late-born neurons during mouse corticogenesis. Moreover, Cotl1 overexpression delayed, rather than blocked, neuronal migration in late-born neurons. Cotl1 expression disturbed the morphology of migrating neurons, lengthening the leading processes. This study is the first to investigate the function of Cotl1, and the results indicate that Cotl1 is involved in the regulation of neuronal migration and morphogenesis. -
Postnatal exposure to a progestin does not prevent uterine adenogenesis in domestic dogs
Tamara Ponchon, Mariana Lopez Merlo, Marcela Faya, Marcelo Priotto, Claudio Barbeito, Cristina Gobello 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 3 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 14 111-113 (3 pages)
To assess the effects of a single supraphysiological postnatal administration of a progestogen on uterine glands in dogs, 10 females were randomly assigned to a medroxyprogesterone acetate 35 mg (MPA; n = 6) or placebo (n = 4) group within the first 24 h of birth. The safety of the treatment was also evaluated. A transient mild clitoris enlargement appeared in MPA-treated females. Microscopic postpubertal uterine assessment revealed the presence of uterine glands in all cases without significant... -
Comparable bone healing capacity of different bone graft matrices in a rabbit segmental defect model
Jong Min Kim, Myoung Hwan Kim, Seong Soo Kang, Gonhyung Kim, Seok Hwa Choi* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 2호 16 289-295 (7 pages)
We compared the bone healing capacity of three different demineralized bone matrix (DBM) products applied using different carrier molecules (hyaluronic acid [HA] vs. carboxymethylcellulose [CMC]) or bone compositions (cortical bone vs. cortical bone and cancellous bone) in a rabbit segmental defect model. Overall, 15-mm segmental defects in the left and right radiuses were created in 36 New Zealand White rabbits and filled with HA-based demineralized cortical bone matrix (DBX), CMC-based... -
Black rice anthocyanidins prevent retinal photochemical damage via involvement of the AP-1/NF-κB/Caspase-1 pathway in Sprague-Dawley Rats
Hao Jia, Wei Chen, Xiaoping Yu, Xiuhua Wu, Shuai Li, Hong Liu, Jiru Liao, Weihua Liu, Mantian Mi, Longjian Liu, Daomei Cheng 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages

The effects of black rice anthocyanidins (BRACs) on retinal damage induced by photochemical stress are not well known. In the present study, Sprague-Dawley rats were fed AIN-93M for 1 week, after which 80 rats were randomly divided into two groups and treated with (n = 40) or without BRACs (n = 40) for 15 days, respectively. After treatment, both groups were exposed to fluorescent light (3,000 ± 200 lux; 25°C), and the protective effect of dietary BRACs were evaluated afterwards. Our results...
