attitudinal (emotional) and informative. Five categories were identified and validated by factor analysis representing 41 out of the 55 items: satisfaction, safety network, media usage, limitations, and decision making. The main implications of the research are the contribution of this new tool to understand contemporary parental involvement and to provide an up-to-date tool to measure this involvement. Further research is required to validate the tool in different educational frameworks. -

Dinar Nur Inten, Andalusia Neneng Permatasari, Ryan Dwi Puspita 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 23 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2021, Vol.15 No.2 3 39-61 (23 pages)
Intimate communication between mother and child is very important for optimal and mature child development in the future. This communication can be built when the mother as the main actor in child care takes enough time to involve in various activities carried out and needed by the child in its development. Nowadays, the existence of a corona pandemic requires everyone to stay at home, no exception for mothers who usually work in the office. Thus, this condition has an important role in... -
Mobilising Pacific Indigenous knowledges to reconceptualise a sustainable future: A Pasifika early childhood education perspective.
Jacoba Matapo 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 18 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2021, Vol.15 No.1 7 119-136 (18 pages)
The proliferation of sustainability discourse in early childhood education reveals deeply rooted epistemic tensions regarding the position of humanist ideology and the relationship to the natural world. This article argues for a reconceptualising of sustainability pedagogy in early childhood education, through the embodied and embedded ontologies Pacific Indigenous knowledge systems offer. The 'endangerment' discourse relevant to human and non-human others, is called into question, particularly... -

Alison M-C. Li, Janet S. Gaffney, Adrienne N Sansom, P. W. Doris Cheng 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 24 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2021, Vol.15 No.1 3 29-52 (24 pages)
Stories in children’s daily lives reflect collective meaning-making and knowledge creation with educators, children, and families. The stories sparked during these collective journeys unveil their shared early childhood experiences (Engel, 2005) and inherited cultural wisdom across generations. Education for sustainable development (ESD) has drawn global interest within the field of early childhood education. UNESCO (2005) defined ESD as a weaving of social, environmental, and economical... -

환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.1 8 169-192 (24 pages)
There is a growing attention for parent involvement in education in general and in early childhood education in particular. The vast majority of scholarly literature is published in English language and originates from Western countries. There is a risk that this may lead to the assumption that mainstream ideas in international literature are globally valid and come to dominate those of other countries, despite cultural differences. We conducted a systematic review of Chinese literature on... -

The main effects of preschool teachers’ resilience and institutional climate supportiveness were identified. Institutional climate tended to affect highly resilient teachers more in terms of their willingness to implement PDCR. These findings provide insights and directions for developing early childhood resilience programs.
