The Road to RNA Silencing is Paved with Plant-Virus Interactions
The Plant Pathology Journal 10 Pages
1 197-206 (10 pages)
RNA silencing has had a large impact on biology in general, as well as on our understanding of plantpathogen interactions, especially interactions between plants and viruses. While most of what we know about the mechanism of RNA silencing was deduced in the last 12 years, many of the interactions between plants and viruses, as well as virus-virus interactions in plants, which we now know are manifestations of RNA silencing, were the subject of decades of work from numerous laboratories. These... -
Evaluation of the Biocontrol Potential of Some Medicinal Plant Materials Alone and in Combination with Trichoderma harzianum Against Rhizoctonia solani AG 2-1
The Plant Pathology Journal 10 Pages
11 68-77 (10 pages)
Fifty five species of medicinal plant materials were tested for their antifungal activity in vitro against Rhizoctonia solani AG 2-1 and Trichoderma harzianum to select plant species that can be used to improve the biocontrol efficacy of T. harzianum. Six species were effective against R. solani AG 2-1 but were also antagonistic to T. harzianum, except for Cinnamomum loureirii stem bark (CSB). CSB inhibited mycelial growth of R. solani AG 2-1 by 73.7% but showed an inhibitory effect on mycelial... -
Development of a 15-day Interval Spraying Program for Controlling Major Apple Diseases
The Plant Pathology Journal 8 Pages
10 439-446 (8 pages)
A fungicidal spray program for effective control of three major apple diseases in Korea (white rot, bitter rot, and Marssonina blotch) was developed. This was based on our previous studies showing that application of ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitors (EBIs) in early or mid-August can eradicate white rot infection in fruit and that some protective fungicides show after-infection activity against white rot. The basic spray program focused on control of white rot, the main target disease, and the... -
MAKE PHOTOS INTO ANIMATION -STUDY ON STOP-MOTION TEACHING OF ART IN HIGH SCHOOL

The rapid emergence of digital technology has gradually changed the way of human resource development, and integrating technology into teaching has become the current education trend. The combination of technology and humanity can provide more diversified possibilities for education and art creation. In order to improve students’ digital software operating ability and develop diversified visual experience intelligence, the study carried out the creation course of stop-motion animation. This... -
Fragrant Bamboo: The Constructivist Inquiry-based Science Project Curriculum Implementing Place-based Education for Preschool Children in Taiwan Tayal Indigenous Tribe
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 28 Pages
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2010, Vol.4 No.2 5 99-126 (28 pages)
The collaborative teaching research was conducted in northern Taiwan’s Tayal indigenous tribe to practice a constructivist inquiry-based science project curriculum implementing place-based education for kindergarten children. Research participants included 2 classroom teachers and 15 young children. Entering the natural tribal context, the researcher collected data through field observations, interviews, and other documentation. Qualitative method was adopted to analyze research data. A bamboo... -

Inhibition of Dicarboxylate Transport by p-chloromercuribenzoic Acid (PCMB) in Plasma Membrane Vesicles of Rabbit Proximal Tubule
Kim, Yong-Keun, Kim, Tae-In, Jung, Jin-Sup, Lee, Sang-Ho 10 Pages
8 179-188 (10 pages)
Effect of a sulfhydryl reagent, p-chloromercuribenzoic acid (PCMB), on the transport of succinate was studied in brush border (BBMV) and basolateral (BLMV) membrane vesicles isolated from rabbit renal cortex. PCMB induced an irreversible inhibition of the Na+-dependent succinate uptake in a dose-dependent manner with IC50 of 55 and 65 μM in BBMV and BLMV, respectively. The inhibitory effect of PCMB was prevented by a pretreatment of vesicles with dithiothreitol. PCMB did not increase Na+...
