(SNPs). In red deer, SNPs were found in codons 15, 21, 59, 78, 79, 98, 136, 168 and 226. These polymorphisms give rise to 12 haplotypes, and one of which is identical to the PRNP of American wapiti (Rocky Mountain elk, Cervus elaphus nelsoni). One silent mutation at codon 119 was detected in chamois and no SNPs were found in roe deer. This analysis confirmed that European wild ruminants have a PRNP genetic background that is compatible with TSE susceptibility, including chronic wasting disease.

Autologous SCNT embryos derived from CFCs (5±2%) showed higher levels of blastocyst formation (p＜0.01) than CCC-derived autologous SCNT embryos (1±0%). In conclusion, the results of the present study show that culturing cumulus and follicular cells before SCNT enhances cell fusion with oocytes and that CFCs are superior to CCCs in the production of higher numbers of autologous SCNT blastocysts.

A crossbred (Sindhi × local indigenous) calf that was 12 days old was admitted to the Teaching Veterinary Hospital, Chittagong Government Veterinary College, Bangladesh, with two accessory hind limbs attached to the pelvic region in between the hind legs. This was clinically identified as a congenital anomaly popularly called pygomelia. The pygomelia was successfully corrected by surgical excisions.

the PT and the CT groups were significantly lower than those of the control group from day 0 to 7 of the experimental period (P<0.05, P<0.01). The CT rats showed reduced poly-arthritis development than the PT rats. Our results suggest that radiographic assessment of bony changes is more suitable for measuring changes in long bones such as femur or tibia than in vertebrae. The prophylactic effect of CT prominently suppressed edematous swelling and bony changes in arthritic limb compared with PT.
