to parents of children through a google form questionnaire. This study uses a correlational quantitative research design. The results showed that children's emotional development was influenced by the level of early childhood smartphone use. This research has implications for parents' understanding of children's behavior in using smartphones. The hope is that parents do not underestimate the use of children's smartphones so that children's emotional development can be more positive. -

In conclusion, the childcare policies up to now have the strong characteristic of being marginal efforts to improve the poor working environment and compensation of childcare teachers rather than being a fundamental solution for the long term. Accordingly, it is necessary to prepare a fundamental and long-term policy that can more realistically reflect the childcare teachers’ policy demands. -

in that it fails to connect broader Korean cultural and societal changes to changes in ECEC over time. In this paper we illustrate the history of South Korean from its independence from the Empire of Japan in 1945 to today and identify connections between socio-political and economic benchmarks and changes in South Korean ECEC. In doing this, we consider the nature of the centralized South Korean educational system, the human capital approach, care versus education, and cultural hybridity. -

Video observations and the Smilansky Scale for the Evaluation of Dramatic and Socio-Dramatic Play (Smilanksy & Shefatya, 1990) were used with 101 preschool children aged 4 to 6 years in selected early childhood educational settings in Melbourne, Australia. Findings reveal that the overall level of children’s dramatic play behaviour was low. A typology of four play styles will be presented. Implications on educators’ pedagogy are discussed. -
