Research Notes : Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction-based System for Simultaneous Detection of Multiple Lily-infecting Viruses
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 6 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2013, 29권 3호 13 338-343 (6 pages)
(PCR) was developed to simultaneously identify multiple viruses in the lily plant. The most common viruses infecting lily plants are the cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), lily mottle virus (LMoV), lily symptomless virus (LSV). Leaf samples were collected at lily-cultivation facilities located in the Kangwon province of Korea and used to evaluate the detection system. Simplex and multiplex RT-PCR were performed using virus-specific primers to detect singleor mixed viral infections in lily plants. Our... -
Research Notes : Difference in Chemotype Composition of Fusarium graminearum Populations Isolated from Durum Wheat in Adjacent Areas Separated by the Apennines in Northern-Central Italy
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 6 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2011, 27권 4호 8 354-359 (6 pages)
Chemotype composition of Fusarium graminearum strains, isolated from durum wheat kernels from naturally FHB infected fields in Northern and Central Italy, was investigated by multiplex PCR. The different climatic and environmental conditions of the two examined areas separated by the Apennines affected the composition of chemotypes. 15Ac-DON chemotype was predominant in both the sub areas. Nivalneol chemotype was more frequent in the warmer sub area. -

fluorescent protein gene in transient expression assays, while the P19 silencing suppressor of Tomato bushy stunt virus did not. Consistent with the modes of action of HC-Pro in other systems, which have shown that HC-Pro suppresses RNA silencing by preventing the unwinding of duplex siRNAs and inhibiting siRNA methylation, these studies showed that SMV HC-Pro interfered with the activities of RNA-induced silencing complexes, but not the activities of Dicer-like enzymes in antiviral defenses. -
Viral Infection of Tissue Cultured Orchids and Evaluation of Damages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 4 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2010, 26권 2호 14 194-197 (4 pages)
Most orchids are propagated by tissue culture. To survey the viral infection of tissue cultured Orchids, total RNA was extracted from in vitro Cymbridium and Phalaenopsis spp. collected from companies producing tissue-cultured orchids, and RT-PCR analysis was conducted with primer pairs specific to Cymbidium mosaic virus (CymMV) and Odontoglossum ring spot virus (ORSV), which are infecting wide range of orchid genera. The bulb size of Cymbidium infected with CymMV and ORSV was compared with... -
Molecular Characterization and Survey of the Infection Rate of Orchid fleck virus in Commercial Orchids

infection rate of OFV in commercial orchids in Korea, 51 Cymbidium sp., 10 Phalaenopsis sp., 22 Oncidium sp. and 21 Dendrobium sp. plants that showed typical viral symptoms were collected. RT-PCR with specific primers for detection of Cymbidium mosaic virus (CymMV), ORSV and OFV showed high infection rate by ORSV alone and double infection by ORSV and CymMV. One of the orchids tested was infected with OFV. This is the first report of the complete nucleotide sequences of OFV isolated in Korea. -

and azuki bean in Korea. Species-specific primer sets were designed for the detection of each virus, and their specificity and sensitivity were tested using mixed primer sets. From among the designed primer sets, two combinations were selected and further evaluated to estimate the detection limits of uniplex, duplex, and multiplex RT-PCR. The multiplex RT-PCR assay could be a useful tool for the field survey of plant viruses and the rapid detection of ClYVV, PeMoV, and TSWV in leguminous plants.
