인문사회과학기술융합학회 예술인문사회융합멀티미디어논문지 2017, 제 7권 제 10호 64 703-711 (9 pages)
Today, men's appearance is an important part of the global fashion industry, including Korea, with such fashion concepts as the Metrosexual and Ubersexual. Domestic and overseas beauty and cosmetics related organizations are using this phenomenon for marketing and researching to improve the function of cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Prunus persica L. Batsch leaf extract on the skin condition after clinical application to male subjects with oily skin to... -
Improvement of gas sensing properties of carbon nanofibers based on polyacrylonitrile and pitch by steam activation
Jeongsik Kim, Hyung-Il Kim, Jumi Yun 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 5 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.24 5 36-40 (5 pages)
Polyacrylonitrile/pitch nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning as a precursor for a gas sensor material. Pitch nanofibers were properly fabricated by incorporating polyacrylonitrile as an electrospinning supplement component. Polyacrylonitrile/pitch nanofibers were activated with steam at various temperatures followed by subsequent carbonization to make carbon nanofibers with a highly conductive graphitic structure. Steam activation was effective in facilitating gas adsorption onto the... -
Electrochemical determination of chloramphenicol using a glassy carbon electrode modified with dendrite-like Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles
Krishnan Giribabu, Sung-Chan Jang, Yuvaraj Haldorai, Muruganantham Rethinasabapathy, Seo Yeong Oh, Arunkumar Rengaraj, Young-Kyu Han 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 10 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.23 6 38-47 (10 pages)
In this study, magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were electrochemically synthesized in an aqueous electrolyte at a given potential of -1.3 V for 180 s. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that dendrite-like Fe3O4 nanoparticles with a mean size of < 80 nm were electrodeposited on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The Fe3O4/GCE was utilized for sensing chloramphenicol (CAP) by cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry. A reduction peak of CAP at the Fe3O4/GCE was observed at 0.62 V, whereas... -

한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 13 110-114 (5 pages)
Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted increasing attention as a sustainable power source due to the rapid growth in mobile electronics and electric automobile markets, driven by increasing environmental awareness [1-4]. The electrochemical performance of LIBs is strongly dependent on the active electrode materials. Therefore, their continuing advanced development is of key importance to meet the expectations of the market [5-7]. Graphite, commonly used in LIB anodes, forms binary graphite... -
NO gas sensing ability of activated carbon fibers modified by an electron beam for improvement in the surface functional group
Mi-Seon Park, Sangmin Lee, Min-Jung Jung, Hyeong Gi Kim, Young-Seak Lee 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 7 Pages

sensor based on ACFs. The oxygen functional group on the ACF surface is changed, resulting in an increase of the number of non-carbonyl (-C-O-C-) groups from 32.5% for pristine ACFs to 39.53% and 41.75% for ACFs treated with hydrogen peroxide and potassium hydroxide solutions, respectively. We discover that the NO gas sensitivity of the gas sensor fabricated using the modified ACFs as an electrode material is increased, although the specific surface area of the ACFs is decreased because of the... -
Adsorption capability of activated carbon synthesized from coconut shell
Md Shariful Islam, Bee Chin Ang, Samira Gharehkhani, Amalina Binti, Muhammad Afifi 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 9 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.20 1 1-9 (9 pages)
Activated carbon was synthesized from coconut shells. The Brunauer, Emmett and Teller surface area of the synthesized activated carbon was found to be 1640 m2/g with a pore volume of 1.032 cm3/g. The average pore diameter of the activated carbon was found to be 2.52 nm. By applying the size-strain plot method to the X-ray diffraction data, the crystallite size and the crystal strain was determined to be 42.46 nm and 0.000489897, respectively, which indicate a perfect crystallite structure. The... -

Date palm leaflets were used as a precursor to prepare dehydrated carbon (DC) via phosphoric acid treatment at 150°C. DC, acidified with H3PO4, was converted to activated carbon (AC) at 500°C under a nitrogen atmosphere. DC shows very low surface area (6.1 m2/g) while AC possesses very high surface area (829 m2/g). The removal of lisinopril (LIS) and chlorpheniramine (CP) from an aqueous solution was tested at different pH, contact time, concentration, and temperature on both carbons. The... -

Harish Mudila, M.G.H. Zaidi, Sweta Rana, S. Alam 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 6 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.18 7 43-48 (6 pages)
Sulphonated polysulphone (SPS) has been synthesized and subsequently applied as binder for graphene oxide (GO)-based electrodes for development of electrochemical supercapacitors. Electrochemical performance of the electrode was investigated using cyclic voltammetry in 1M Na2SO4 and 1M KOH solution. The fabricated supercapacitors gave a specific capacitance of 161.6 and 216.8 F/g with 215.4 W/kg and 450 W/kg of power density, in 1M Na2SO4 and 1M KOH solutions, respectively. This suggests that... -

highly porous carbons were prepared by chemical activation of carbonized biomass-derived aerogels. These aerogels were synthesized from watermelon flesh using a hydrothermal reaction. After carbonization, chemical activation was conducted using potassium hydroxide to enhance the specific surface area and microporosity. The micro-structural properties and morphologies were measured by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The specific surface area and microporosity... -

by alkaline and acidic solutions, respectively. The potassium hydroxide (KOH) modified carbon felt exhibited high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface areas and large pore volume, and oxygencontaining functional groups were increased during KOH chemical modification. However, the BET surface area significantly decreased by nitric acid (HNO3) chemical modification due to severe chemical dissolution of the pore structure. The capability of electrosorption by an electrical double-layer and the...
