Evaluation of a fixed-dose combination of benazepril and pimobendan in dogs with congestive heart failure: a randomized non-inferiority clinical trial
Jonathan N. King, Atsushi Hirakawa, Junko Sonobe, Hiroshi Otaki, Nobuhiro Sakakibara, Wolfgang Seewald, Sophie Forster 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 12 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 1호 15 117-128 (12 pages)
A fixed-dose combination tablet of benazepril and pimobendan (Fortekor Plus; Elanco Animal Health) was tested in dogs with congestive heart failure (CHF) caused by myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) in a three-arm, masked, randomized, non-inferiority clinical trial in Japan. The test group (n = 34) received Fortekor Plus twice daily. Two control groups received registered formulations of benazepril (Fortekor; Elanco Animal Health) and pimobendan (Vetmedin; Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica)... -
Molecular-level evaluation of selected periodontal pathogens from subgingival regions in canines and humans with periodontal disease
Magdalena Goły?ska, Izabela Polkowska, Małgorzata Bartoszcze-Tomaszewska, Aleksandra Sobczy?ska-Rak, Łukasz Matuszewski 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 1호 7 51-58 (8 pages)
Dogs commonly serve as a model for various human conditions, including periodontal diseases. The aim of this study was to identify the anaerobic bacteria that colonize the subgingival areas in dogs and humans by using rapid real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)-based tests and to compare the results obtained in each species. Bacterial microflora evaluations, both quantitative and qualitative, were performed by applying ready-made tests on twelve dogs and twelve humans. Five samples were... -
Betulinic acid prevents alcohol-induced liver damage by improving the antioxidant system in mice

Betulinic acid (BA), a pentacyclic lupane-type triterpene, has a wide range of bioactivities. The main objective of this work was to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of BA and the potential mechanism underlying the ability of this compound to prevent liver damage induced by alcohol in vivo. Mice were given oral doses of BA (0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 mg/kg) daily for 14 days, and induced liver injury by feeding 50% alcohol orally at the dosage of 10 ml/kg after 1 h last administration of BA. BA... -
Prevalence of Brucella antibodies in sera of cows in Bangladesh
Kazi M. R. Amin, M. Bahanur Rahman, M. Siddiqur Rahman, Jae cheol Han, Jin ho Park, Joon seok Chae 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2005, 제 6권 제 3호 8 223-226 (4 pages)
The study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of Brucella antibodies in sera of 120 cows in Bangladesh Agricultural University Dairy Farm and adjacent villages, Bangladesh. The epidemiological history and blood was collected from the cows. The serum samples were subjected to Rose Bengal Test (RBT)and plate agglutination test (PAT)for initial screening of Brucella antibodies and the positive sera samples were then subjected to tube agglutination test (TAT)for further confirmation. The... -

한국음악교육학회 음악교육연구 2020, 제 49권 제 3호 2 29-49 (21 pages)
The purpose of the present study was to develop a Korean Music Performance Anxiety Scale (K-MPAS) to measure music performance anxiety of college music major students in Korea. Items were developed based on previous scales: the Music Performance Anxiety Inventory for Adolescents (MPAI-A) by Osborne & Kenny (2005) and the Personal Report of Confidence as a Speaker (PRCS) by Paul (1966). The preliminary K-MPAS comprising 26 items was conducted to 230 college music major students to verify the... -
Phytophthora Species, New Threats to the Plant Health in Korea
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 12 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2014, 30권 4호 1 331-342 (12 pages)
Given the lack of a resistant genetic pool in host plants, the introduction of exotic invasive pathogens can result in epidemics that affect a specific ecosystem and economy. Plant quarantine, which is designed to protect endemic plant resources, is a highly invaluable safeguard that should keep biosecurity with increasing international trade and global transportation. A total of 34 species of plant pathogens including Phytophthora infestans were documented as introduced from other countries... -
Identification of Alternaria alternata as a Causal Agent for Leaf Blight in Syringa Species

or toxins. Diagnostic primers were developed to detect Alternaria sp. and A. alternata in lilac leaf blight based on ITS region and four known genes associated with pathogenesis in A. alternata: mixed-linked glucanase precursor, endopolygalacturonase, hsp70, and histone genes. The results from our study indicated A. alternata is a primary pathogen in lilac leaf blight, and these diagnostic primers can be used as a tool for the fast detection of A. alternata associated with lilac leaf blight. -
Critical Analysis of “Sustainability” in Korean Early Childhood Curriculum from Posthuman Perspectives
Hyunsun Suh 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 23 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2022, Vol.16 No.3 2 23-45 (23 pages)
This study analyzed how the recently revised Korean early childhood curriculum describes and discusses sustainability through a critical perspective using posthumanism to destabilize anthropocentric thinking and expand the concept of sustainability. The notion of sustainability described in the General Guidelines and Commentaries of the Korean Early Childhood Curriculum reveal limitations and the potential of the ontological, epistemological, and ethical foundations which serve as the basis of...
