A chitinolytic bacterial strain having strong antifungal activity was isolated and identified as Burkholderia cepacia MPC-7 based on 16S rRNA gene analysis. sesame seeds in hot water at 60oC for 5 minutes increased seed germination of Giza 32 and Shandawel-3 cvs. followed by 55 oC, 50oC and 45oC, while 40oC treatment resulted the lowest seed germination rate. Dipping sesame seeds in hot water at different temperature before planting decreased seed, seedling and charcoal rots.
