본고는 경주 황성동267유적과 울산 세죽유적에서 신석기시대 조ㆍ전기의 상층에서 확인된 자갈층이 대 홍수에 의해서 기원전 3000년경에 형성된 것이고, 그로 인하여 전기문화는 소멸되고 중국 동북지방으 로부터 침선문을 중심으로 한 새로운 문화가 유입되어 중기문화가 시작된다고 한 필자의 이전 주장을 재검토하기 위해 작성되었다. 남한지역에서 신석기시대는 기원전 5800년부터 5500년 사이의 前海退期에 죽변리유적이나 오산리유적 C지구 등이 형성되어 조기문화가 시작하며, 그 뒤를 잇는 소위 飛鳳里海進期는 기원전 3000년까지...
