Post-ischemic Time-dependent Activity Changes of Hippocampal CA1 cells of the Mongolian Gerbils
The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 4 Pages
The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 2007, Vol.11 No.6 3 249-252 (4 pages)
Changes of single unit activity of CA1 hippocampus region were investigated in anesthetized Mongolian gerbils for six days following transient ischemia. Ischemia was produced immediately before the implantation of micro-wire recording electrodes. In control animals receiving pseudo-ischemic surgery, neither spontaneous neuronal activities (5.70±0.4 Hz) nor the number of recorded neurons per animal changed significantly for six days. Correlative firings among simultaneously recorded neurons... -

Acetylcholine Induces Hyperpolarization Mediated by Activation of K(Ca) Channels in Cultured Chick Myoblasts
The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 8 Pages
The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 2005, Vol.9 No.1 6 37-44 (8 pages)
by KCa channels provides driving force for Ca2 influx through the stretch-activated channels into the cells. Here, we showed that acetylcholine (ACh) also hyperpolarized the membrane of cultured chick myoblasts, suggesting that nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) may be another pathway for Ca2 influx. Under cell-attatched patch configuration, ACh increased the open probability of KCa channels from 0.007 to 0.055 only when extracellular Ca2 was present. Nicotine, a nAChR... -
Current Status of ICT in the Practice and its Implications for the Elementary Teacher Education Program
Eastwest Education 11 Pages

With considering teaching-learning methods in the elementary education, this paper aims at presenting some future agenda in the area of educational method, especially ICT. While there has been introduced many methods and strategies regarding teaching-learning methods, teachers in the field prefer their own ones based on their educational belief systems. The research on teaching-learning methods show that it does not reflect to which methods they prefer and why, and that their status as... -
Aspects and Meaning of Caring Relationship between Handicapped and Nonhandicapped Children
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 27 Pages
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2007, Vol.1 No.2 4 67-93 (27 pages)
The purpose of this study was to examine the creation of caring relationships between handicapped and nonhandicapped children in inclusive education setting and the edu- cational meaning of that relationship. Different sorts of data were analyzed and inter- preted, including participant observation records, conversational journals prepared by inclusive education teachers and this researcher, and reminder books on which the inclusive education teachers and parents of the handicapped children took... -
The Current State and Future Directionof University Museums in the Republic of Korea
In Sook Lee, Yun Shun Susie Chung 24 Pages
University museums are centers of preservation and research. The beginnings of university museums in the West demonstrate the concentration on the systematization of collecting and the use of the collections for teaching. However, most university museums do not serve as cultural centers communicating to the broader community beyond specialist knowledge. This is true for not only the West but the East as well. In conjunction with the 2004 Intemational Council of Museums general conference taking...
