(p<0.05). In addition, it did not show a significant difference between muscles in 30%, 50% hand strength. Conclusions: This study showed an increase in shoulder muscle activation with increasing hand grip strength with the upper trapezius muscle being more activated than other muscles in 0% grip strength. The finding of this study suggests usefulness for development of preventative measures and rehabilitation strategies for increasing shoulder motor function in patients with breast cancer. -
Kinematic characteristics of grip force in patients with cervical spondylosis

results of the three STEF subtests (p<0.05). There were no significant correlations between the total grip force and pinch/grip powers. Conclusions: We found that the total grip force correlated with cutaneous pressure threshold and upper extremity function. The results suggest that the total grip force could serve as an objective index for evaluating paresthesia in cervical spondylosis patients, and that the impaired ability of the upper extremity function is related to grip force coordination. -

Joo-hee Hahn, Hyun-Geun Ha, Hwang-Jae Lee, Seung-yeop Lim, Wan-hee Lee 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages
8 152-157 (6 pages)
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of the dual rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (D-RUSI) when simultaneously measuring muscle thickness changes at rest and during co-contraction of the biceps brachii (BB) and triceps brachii (TB). Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: This study included 36 healthy participants (23 men, 13 women). The participants sat on a chair in a comfortable position with a cushion placed under their elbow to... -
The effect of hip joint strengthening exercise using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on balance, sit to stand and walking ability in a person with traumatic brain injury
Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 9 Pages
8 96-104 (9 pages)
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the hip joint strengthening exercises using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) on the clinical symptoms and the treatment effects in balance, sit to stand, and gait abilities in patients with TBI. Design: A single case study. Methods: A 13-year-old adolescent with quadriplegia and hip joint control impairment participated in this four-week training intervention. The patient, diagnosed with TBI, wastreated with hip... -
Effects of corrective exercises on selective functional movement assessment and health risk appraisal in middle-aged women
Jae Eun Kim, Cheong Kim, Sin-seop Kim 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 8 Pages
4 185-192 (8 pages)
Objective: The purpose of this study was to find the limited patterns of middle-aged women in selective functional movement evaluation and analyze the effects of pattern improvement exercises and general control groups on the Health Risk Appraisal (HRA). Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The 31 subjects were physically healthy middle-aged women aged 40-59 living in Seoul, The subjects were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. Forty-three physically healthy... -

hand-held dynamometer, grip strength level through an electric dynamometer, and ROM through a smartphone goniometer application before and after intervention. Patient-rated tennis elbow evaluation, Visual Analogue Scale and Short Form 8 were measured by questionnaires. Results: There were showed significant differences among the VRE, WRE and control group in wrist extensor muscle and hand grip strength, ROM, elbow function, pain and QOL after intervention (p<0.05). The VRE group showed a greater... -
Comparison on postural control between abdominal draw-in maneuver and abdominal expansion maneuver in persons with stroke

1 113-119 (7 pages)
Objective: The effect of abdominal expansion maneuver (AEM) and abdominal draw-in maneuver (ADIM) on postural control in an unsupported position in stroke patients. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: A total of 36 persons with hemiplegic stroke participated in this study. The subjects were randomly divided into an AEM experimental group (n=12), an experimental ADIM group (n=12), and a control group (n=12). We collected the general characteristics of all subjects and the pre-test... -

Objective: Cervical stabilization exercises are frequently to improve strength and endurance of cervical muscles. The purpose of this study was to identify changes in head repositioning accuracy (HRA) and neck proprioception through cervical stabilization exercises in healthy adults. Design: One group pretest-posttest design. Methods: Thirteen participants with no previous history of neck pain or injury to the cervical spine were recruited. HRA was measured by equipment including laser pointer,... -
