Examining the possibilities for children’s digital literacy practices at home: Two theoretical perspectives
Lisa Kervin 경인교육대학교 교육연구원 The Journal of Education 14 Pages
경인교육대학교 교육연구원 The Journal of Education 2020, Vol.3 No.2 6 95-108 (14 pages)
The everyday use of digital technologies influences the literacy practices of young children and their families. Literate knowledge, skills, and understandings emerge through interactions between elements of the environment, artefacts or ‘tools’ (digital and non-digital), and people. As technologies become increasingly portable, affordable and efficient there is need to examine how digital experiences contribute to emergent literacy development. I draw upon the 2020 Australian COVID-19... -

Development and evaluation of a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using a monoclonal antibody for diagnosis of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus in bovine sera
Hyojin Lee, Eun-Ju Kim, Jae-Young Song, Jeong Soo Choi, Ji Youn Lee, In-Soo Cho, Yeun-Kyung Shin 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 3호 6 307-314 (8 pages)
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) caused by the SFTS virus (SFTSV), a phlebovirus in the family Bunyaviridae, is an emerging tick-borne infectious disease that impacts humans. This disease manifests as a decreased blood cell count and multi-organ failure, with a case-fatality rate of more than 12% in China. Because vaccines or antiviral drugs for the treatment of this disease are not available, monitoring the SFTS circulation in animals and controlling the tick-mammal cycle are... -
Hydration status affects osteopontin expression in the rat kidney
Su-Youn Lee, Sae-Jin Lee, Hong-Lin Piao, Suk-Young Yang, I. David Weiner, Jin Kim, Ki-Hwan Han 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 3호 2 269-277 (9 pages)
Osteopontin (OPN) is a secretory protein that plays an important role in urinary stone formation. Hydration status is associated with the development of urolithiasis. This study was conducted to examine the effects of dehydration and hydration on OPN expression in the rat kidney. Animals were divided into three groups, control, dehydrated, and hydrated. Kidney tissues were processed for light and electron microscope immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridization, and immunoblot analysis. Dehydration... -
Improved development of somatic cell cloned bovine embryos by a mammary gland epithelia cells in vitro model
Xiao-ying He, Li-bing Ma, Xiao-ning He, Wan-tong Si, Yue-Mao Zheng 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 2호 3 145-152 (8 pages)
Previous studies have established a bovine mammary gland epithelia cells in vitro model by the adenovirus-mediated telomerase (hTERT-bMGEs). The present study was conducted to confirm whether hTERT-bMGEs were effective target cells to improve the efficiency of transgenic expression and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). To accomplish this, a mammary-specific vector encoding human lysozyme and green fluorescent protein was used to verify the transgenic efficiency of hTERT-bMGEs, and untreated... -
Molecular cloning, purification and immunogenicity of recombinant Brucella abortus 544 malate dehydrogenase protein
Alisha Wehdnesday Bernardo Reyes, Hannah Leah Tadeja Simborio, Huynh Tan Hop, Lauren Togonon Arayan, Suk Kim 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 16 119-122 (4 pages)
The Brucella mdh gene was successfully cloned and expressed in E. coli. The purified recombinant malate dehydrogenase protein (rMDH) was reactive to Brucella-positive bovine serum in the early stage, but not reactive in the middle or late stage, and was reactive to Brucella-positive mouse serum in the late stage, but not in the early or middle stage of infection. In addition, rMDH did not react with Brucella-negative bovine or mouse sera. These results suggest that rMDH has the potential for use... -
Stanniocalcin-1 protects bovine intestinal epithelial cells from oxidative stress-induced damage
Li-ming Wu, Rui Guo, Lin Hui, Yong-gang Ye, Jing-mei Xiang, Chun-yun Wan, Miao Zou, Rui Ma, Xiao-zhuan Sun, Shi-jin Yang, Ding-z 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 4호 3 475-483 (9 pages)
Chronic enteritis can produce an excess of reactive oxygen species resulting in cellular damage. Stanniocalcin-1(STC-1) reportedly possesses anti-oxidative activity, the aim of this study was to define more clearly the direct contribution of STC-1 to anti-oxidative stress in cattle. In this study, primary intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) were exposed to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for different time intervals to mimic chronic enteritis-induced cellular damage. Prior to treatment with 200 μM... -
Prevalence and characteristics of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) from cattle in Korea between 2010 and 2011
Eun Kang, Sun Young Hwang, Ka Hee Kwon, Ki Yeon Kim, Jae Hong Kim, Yong Ho Park* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 11 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2014, 제 15권 제 3호 5 369-379 (11 pages)
A total of 156 Shiga-like toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC) were isolated from fecal samples of Korean native (100/568, 18%) and Holstein dairy cattle (56/524, 11%) in Korea between September 2010 and July 2011. Fifty-two STEC isolates (33%) harbored both of shiga toxin1 (stx1) and shiga toxin2 (stx2) genes encoding enterohemolysin (EhxA) and autoagglutinating adhesion (Saa) were detected by PCR in 83 (53%) and 65 (42%) isolates, respectively. By serotyping, six STEC from native cattle and... -

대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2012, 제 13권 제 1호 11 73-79 (7 pages)
Chicken anemia virus (CAV) is an important viral pathogen that causes anemia and severe immunodeficiency syndrome in chickens worldwide. In this study, a potential diagnostic monoclonal antibody against the CAV VP1 protein was developed which can precisely recognize the CAV antigen for diagnostic and virus recovery purposes. The VP1 gene of CAV encoding the N-terminus-deleted VP1 protein, VP1Nd129, was cloned into an Escherichia (E.) coli expression vector. After... -
Enhancement of protective immune responses by oral vaccination with Saccharomyces cerevisiae expressing recombinant Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae ApxIA or ApxIIA in mice
Sung Jae Shin, Seung Won Shin, Mi Lan Kang, Deog Yong Lee, Moon-Sik Yang, Yong-Suk Jang, Han Sang Yoo* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 10 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 4호 11 383-392 (10 pages)
We previously induced protective immune response by oral immunization with yeast expressing the ApxIIA antigen. The ApxI antigen is also an important factor in the protection against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serotype 5 infection; therefore, the protective immunity in mice following oral immunization with Saccharomyces cerevisiae expressing either ApxIA (group C) or ApxIIA (group D) alone or both (group E) was compared with that in two control groups (group A and B). The immunogenicity of...
