The Discursive Construction of Writer Identity in the Statement of Purpose (SOP): A Case Study of Two Korean Students

A recent study examined the identity construction in teaching philosophy statements of two MA TESOL stu- dents and discovered that “their identity construction rein- forced the writing conventions associated with the imagined community” (Supasiraprapa & De Costa, 2016, p. 1). Despite the aforementioned studies, the field of L2 writing research still lacks sufficient studies related to writer... the construction of the Statement of Purpose (SOP). A total of five SOPs written by two Korean graduate students were analyzed by the researcher; in addition, the SOPs were reviewed by two native speaker TESOL professors who provided open-ended comments afterwards. . RESULTS Construction of pSFV-ORF5 To express PRRSV GP5 in mammalian cells, we used the SFV-based expression system. Genomic RNAs of the PRRSV CNV-1 were extracted from virus culture media.
