A Simple and Reliable Molecular Detection Method for Tomato yellow leaf curl virus in Solanum lycopersicum without DNA Extraction
한국식물병리학회 식물병연구 2015, 21권 3호 1 180-185 (6 pages)
a simple, rapid and efficient diagnostic method, which the method allows saving of time and labors for TYLCV diagnosis. To determine the detection limit and specificity of the devel- oped duplex PCR method used directly from crude sap, various DNA concentrations were prepared from serial dilutions of total DNA and crude sap from tomato leaves infected with TYLCV. To use direct comparison for... -

In the United States, we have preoccupied ourselves with easier-to-measure skills (e.g., basic literacy and numer- acy) and done little to educate global citizens. Our eval- uation revealed a rare program. As it refines and replicates its design, OWN can demonstrate how to make global cit- izenship education accessible and amplify the dialogue around this 21 st-century necessity. References... standards for promising and evidence-based practices, (b) a year of OWN’s leadership coursework to associate with elevated levels of global citizenship on three measures, and (c) mixed results when comparing OWN’s recruitment methods to a high school-specific definition for global citizenship development. We discuss OWN’s status as a rare program to prioritize global citizenship and serve mostly economically disadvantaged students, plus opportunities for OWN to improve its design and theory. -
Reliability and validity of the patellofemoral disability index as a measure of functional performance and subjective pain in subjects with patellofemoral pain syndrome

pain that is aggravated during certain activities such as squatting, prolonged sitting, or ascending/descend- ing stairs [1]. PFPS may limit activities of daily living (ADL) due to a decrease in range of motion, knee stability, and the ability to carry out ordinary activities such as walk- ing, running, sitting down, and squatting. The most recent statistics for PFPS in the United States show... Index (PDI) was developed to assess the effect of pain on functional activities in individuals with PFPS. The objectives of the current study were to determine the internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and validity of this index. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Forty-one subjects who had PFPS with a mean age of 28.8±5.0 years and a mean body mass index of 25.6±4.7 kg/m2 participated in the study. All subjects were concurrently enrolled in a clinical trial for which they were... -

the United States amounting to approximately 795,000 people experiencing a new or recurrent stroke, per year [2]. Furthermore, post-stroke hemiplegic patients have neuro- logical impairments, such as, motor, sensory, cognition and speech deficits, and also exhibit various motor dysfunctions, such as, hemiparesis, muscle weakness, reduced selective motor control, and abnormal reflexes, all of... Objective: To study the effects of gait training with additional weight and gait training with non-additional weight on balance ability and gait ability in patients with chronic stroke through comparative analysis. Design: Randomized controlled trials. Methods: The subjects were divided randomly into two groups: additional weight group (AWG, n=12), and non-additional weight group (NAWG, n=10). Both groups received general physical therapy for 30 min in 1 session, 5 sessions per week during 6... -

ry states that LLLT will cause a biostimulation effect on tar- get human tissues via non-thermal low intensity irradiation of laser light [18]. However, commercially certified LLLT products in United States are classified as infrared lamps, which are thermal-type devices [13,16,19]. Therefore, sev- eral current indications for LLLT usage contradict this bio- stimulation theory. Many of LLLT... of comparison of numerous research studies because of differences in the intensities and frequencies of low level laser treatment (LLLT). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of LLLT on controlling bacterial growth. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Variables included LLLT dosage and wavelength on 3 bacteria commonly seen in wounds, strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were used on commercially available 5.0-cm agar plates.... -

4 of the Constitution states, “All ethnicities have the freedoms to use and develop their own spoken and written languages”; and Article 9 states, “Putonghua and the standardized Chinese Han characters shall be used by the state.” Since 1978, foreign language education in China has developed rapidly, especially English education (Jin, 2008). Foreign language education in China has now... This study examined the current situation of foreign language education, teacher training, and education in Korea and China. The analysis and comparison of both countries’ educational policies, problems, and improvement strategies revealed several aspects that require attention. When foreign language education policies are established and enforced in the future, more attention should be given to the rigorous systematization of foreign language curriculum. Furthermore, in the context of... -

In this study, we propose a case study on maker education based on computational thinking. To this end, we propose a training case for developing devices for real life using Arduino input / output computing systems and digital logic circuits. Applying the results of this research to various subjects, it can be used to combine maker education with computational thinking process and systematize maker education method. -

Bovine abortion, diarrhea, and respiratory disease complexes, caused by infectious agents, result in high and significant economic losses for the cattle industry. These pathogens are likely transmitted by various vectors and reservoirs including insects, birds, and rodents. However, experimental data supporting this possibility are scarce. We collected 117 samples and screened them for 44 bovine abortive, diarrheal, and respiratory disease complex pathogens by using Dembo polymerase chain...
