The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 9 Pages
The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 2015, Vol.19 No.2 12 167-175 (9 pages)
duration (or amplitude) of the pulse was fixed to 500 μs (30 μA), changing the intensities (or duration) from 2 to 60 μA (60 to 1000 μs). RGCs were classified as response-positive when PSTH showed multiple (3∼4) peaks within 400 ms post stimulus and the number of spikes was at least 30% more than that for the immediate pre-stimulus 400 ms period. RGC responses were well modulated both with anodic and cathodic phase-1st biphasic pulses. Cathodic phase-1st pulses produced significantly better... -
Effect of Intensity of Unconditional Stimulus on Reconsolidation of Contextual Fear Memory

of protein synthesis. This so called "boundary condition" of reconsolidation may be related to memory strength. In Pavlovian fear conditioning, the intensity of unconditional stimulus (US) determines the strength of the fear memory. In this study, we examined the effect of the intensity of US on the reconsolidation of contextual fear memory. Strong contextual fear memory, which is conditioned with strong US, is not disrupted by inhibition of protein synthesis after its reactivation; however, a... -

as a mechanical factor for bone remodeling. However, whether the hyperosmotic stimulus affects 1Ձ, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1Ձ,25(OH)2D3)-induced osteoclastogenesis is not clear. In the present study, the effect of the hyperosmotic stimulus on 1Ձ,25(OH)2D3- induced osteoclastogenesis was investigated in an osteoblast-preosteoclast co-culture system. Serial doses of sucrose were applied as a mechanical force. These hyperosmotic stimuli significantly evoked a reduced number of... -
Effect of Stimulus Rate and Gender on Auditory Middle Latency Response in Young Adults

1/s. There were significant differences in the latency of Na and the amplitudes of Na, Pa, Nb, and Pb according to gender. The latencies of Na, Pa, Nb, and Pb in females were longer than in males while the amplitudes of Na, Pa, Nb, and Pb in males are larger than in females. Conclusion: The ranges of optimal stimulus rate to elicit the apparent AMLR waveform were 1-8/s. This provides clinical basic data of stimulus rate and gender-specific norms on the latency and amplitude of the AMLR waveform. -

and progressively increased, whereas the amplitudes of ABR waves inconsistently changed. The latency shift became longer in wave V than wave I and Ⅲ. The amplitude of wave I, Ⅲ, and V was greatest at a stimulus rate of 21/s and least at a stimulus rate of 32/s, compared to those of other stimulus rates. This study will provide beneficial information in developing proper strategies that optimize and enhance the ABR wave latencies and amplitudes in different gender groups, saving the ABR test... -

12 227-248 (22 pages)

Objective: Prone bridge exercise is one of the core strengthening exercise for improving abdominal, lower and upper extremity muscles. In addition, coactivation of the trunk muscles and extremities is important for treatment of low back pain. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the thickness, cross-sectional area of the target muscle, and endurance during prone bridge exercise. Our hypothesis was that an increase in muscle thickness is positively related to the hold time for... -
