This paper aims to examine the narrative method for learning in The Buddhist Sutra’s story and to suggest thereby its educational meaning within the context of Modern Education. In connection with this purpose, First of all, From the educational point of view I focused on the hermeneutic charteristics of narrative, Bruner’s Autobiographical view of narrative and the five roles of narrative in narrative curriculum which is based on constructivism. Among those that the above indicated, The focus is mainly directed at the five roles of narrative. these are followings. 1. As a role of the preparation for the expectation in the tuition, narrative enables the learners to focus on their attention and to offer the motivation for the learning. By doing so, narrative leads to a stimulus in the tuition. 2. As a role of applications, narrative is the means that the subject matters are connected with the other subject matters and that enables the learners to use it for the purpose of the understading of the difficult conception of the subject matters. 3. As a role of the finishing of the tuition, narrative is the means that the teacher confirm that whether the learners comprehand or not the subject mattes of tuition and that uses it as the mathod for the summarizing what is learned. 4. As a role of the resources, narrative is the means that offers both the insight and the information to the specific subject. 5. As a role of the frame of curriculum, narrative functions as an important position throughout the whole progress of the curriculum in the tuition I insist that there are the five roles of narrative which is called the integrated method of learning within The HyeonWooSutra(賢愚經)’s stor y that I quoted, and these roles enable The Buddhist Sutra’s story to be the method of learning in Buddhism. Furthermore, I insist that the method of The Buddha’s preaching within The Buddhist Sutra’s stories like The HyeonWooSutra(賢愚經) is theor etically based on Both the step by step(漸進ㆍ次第) educational method by The SansuMokgeonryeo Sutra(算數目揵連經) and The 方便 by The Buddha’s Teaching. Next, The Buddhist Sutra’s story has the educational significances. It represents the Buddhist reconceptualistic paradigm in modern education, which leads the learner to Enlightenment by the growth and development of the educational experience in the buddhist doctrine succeedingly through the narrative method of learning in constructivism. The results show that the method for learning by the 方便 in The Buddhist Sutra’s story will be educational perspective in the Buddhist educational field, that is to say, informal education, including formal education in the future.
