액체배양의 비교실험을 통해 air-lift fermenter의 사용이 종균 배양에 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 형태 분석을 통해 적정 크기($2{sim}4mm$)의 pellet 형태의 유지가 대량 생산의 중요인자인 것을 규명하였다. Air-lift fermenter 하의 배양을 종균으로 하고, 적정 크기의 pellet을 유지하는 500 L까지의 jar fermenter를 사용한 회분 배양의 scale-up 실험결과, 30 및 500 L에서의 교반 및 통기속도는 각각 200 rpm, 1 vvm 및 150 rpm, 1 vvm이었다. 이 조건하에서 배양의 전 기간 중 적정 pellet을 유지하였으며, 최대 균사체량은... -

niger(KCTC 1232)를 이용한 구연산 생산 실험을 수행하였다. 초종 세포농도는 세포 성장구간 기준으로 300g/l에 달하였다. 공기와 산소의 공급 조건하에서의 단위 용적당의 생산성은 각각 0.63, 0.02g/l.h였고 이는 회분식 발효에 대해 10, 16배 증가한 결과이다. 공급배지의 초기 pH는 구연산의 생산에 중요한 요소이며 pH가 낮을수록 높은 구연산 생산수율을 얻을 수 있었다. 발효공업이 발달되면서 발효조의 scale-up에 대한 문제는 꾸준하게 연구되어져 왔다. 이 scale-up은 미생물 뿐만 아니라 최근에는 동물이나 식물 그리고 곤충세포의 대량배양을 위해서도 계속적으로 연구되고 있는 분야이다. 수많은 생물반응기가 개발되었고 또 개발중에 있는데, 각 반응기에 대한 scale-up의 방법은 서로 상이할 수 있기 때문에 본 고에서는 현재 산업계에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 전통적인 교반조 발효기에 대한 scale-up의 원리와 응용을 다루고자 한다.

카본슬러리 연료 제조 시 카본의 분산안정성에 미치는 공정변수의 영향을 조사하였다. 카본슬러리연료의 분산안정성은 위치별 입도분석, 카본함량 분석, 그리고 원심분리 후 분산상태 관찰을 통해서 측정하였다. 여러 종류의 첨가제를 적용한 결과, NB463S84 사용시 분산성과 분산안정성이 가장 우수한 것을 알 수 있었다.
