regulation of HIF-1a. To investigate the effect of miR-210 on hMSC survival under hypoxic conditions, survival rates along with signaling related to cell survival were evaluated in hMSCs over-expressing miR-210 or ones that lacked HIF-1a expression. Elevated miR-210 expression increased survival rates along with Akt and ERK activity in hMSCs with hypoxia. These data demonstrated that a positive feedback loop involving miR-210 and HIF-1a was important for MSC survival under hypoxic conditions. -

advantages of peer assessment itself. Accordingly, 49 Korean EFL university students were recruited, and 25 (i.e., control group) were given only the instructor’s feedback, and the rest 24 (i.e., experimental group) were additionally given peer feedback. The students made five presentations in total, and their midterm and final exam scores between the two groups were compared through independent samples t-tests. The midterm scores were quite similar, but statistically significant differences... -

The results of the training show that Korean students benefited from in-class revision and group revision over off-class or individual revision, though their revised drafts with teacher feedback are of better quality than the original draft regardless of revision setting. They also illustrate individual variations; the importance of how to group; the problem of the lack of language resources; and the influence of functional types and specificity and... -

teachers’ self-efficacy and perceptions. The findings from an independent- samples t-test and Pearson product-moment correlation suggest that negative, corrective, and emotional feedback was found more in self-feedback while factual feedback was more evident in peer-feedback. Furthermore, negative relations between self-efficacy and emotional peer-feedback and positive relations between their perceptions and the difference of directness in self and peer-feedback were found in the study. -

Both classical philosophy and contemporary research suggest education should provide young people with opportunities to develop themselves in a well-balanced manner: Academic and intellectual advancement should take place in the context of spiritual and moral growth. This, however, is not happening in the national education system of any nation today. On the contrary, with the advancement of modern science and technology, materialism and consumerism are on the rise, and spirituality and... -
