Second, the frequency of caring for grandchildren had a positive relationship with the linear rate of change (β=.249, p<.05) and a negative association with the nonlinear rate of change (β = -.322, p<.05) in depression. In contrast, the intensity of grandchild care had a negative relationship with linear changes (β=-.268, p<.05) in depression and a positive relationship with nonlinear rates (β=.284, p<.05) of change.
