The study was made on the domestic yarn for knitting to evaluate its quality and Knitting abilities. The following results were found: 1. The twist multiplier and unevenness of the yarn were improper for knitting. 2. Most of the knitting fabrics were under the grade B in appearance standard. 3. There was no relation between washing hours and bursting strength or stitch length in knitted fabrics 4. Air permeability and shrinkage of the fabric changed rapidly in the first washing operation but changed slowly in the successive operations.
