A case of gargoylism developed in 6months infant was reported with a review of the literature. This infant visited our hospital on 24th, March. 1972, with bilateral inguinal hernia. Routine examination of the chest P-A view and plain abdomen ws performed. Congenital and hereditary defects of the bony structures including anthropoid shaped pelvis, tilted sacrum, irregularities of the acetabulum and femur head and club-like expansions of the lower ribs were noted. The lateral view of lumbar spine showed typical inferior beak-like lipping of the 2nd lumbar vertebra body and dorsolumbar kyphosis.
