We, human being, have been still using the raw chicken fiber so far inseparable from the shaft. The present studies were undertaken for the separation of the shaft in order to obtain the pure fiber only. After steeping the raw chicken fiber in the various organic solvents, alkali and acid solutions, and then the chicken fiber was pulverized through the self-designed and let manufactured roller and we could obtain good yield of the shaft-free fiber for each solution. In doing so, it has been seen that optimum solutions are NaOH and HNO$_3$ solutions. Furthermore it has been found that the optimum conditions of NaOH and HNO$_3$ solutions are 0.3% and 20% in the concentration and 93$^{circ}C$ and 89$^{circ}C$ in the temperature, respectively. The shaft-free chicken fiber could be obtained about 80% yield in both cases under the above conditions.
