334 patient (female : 298 , male: 36) who had clinically palpable thyroid nodules and were operated from Mach, 1974 through June, 1980 were reviewed. All was takne thyroid scan using 99m Tc -pertechnitate and was compared to histopaathlogicla diagnosis. Solitary cold nodule was the most common finding of thyroid scan (255/334 : 76.38%) and 171 of them (67.06%) were adenomal and 44(13.17%) carcinoma, So 44 of 56 cancers was solitary cold nodule. The frequencyof histological findings of thyroid nodules was as follow : 1. Adenoma 211(63.17%) 2. Cancer 56(16.17%) 3. Adenomatous nodule 28(8.38%). 4. Cyst 18(5.39%). 5. Thyroiditis 16(4.79%) 6. Diffuse hyperthyroidism 5(1.50%).
