Because of recent advances in cardiac surgery and diagnostic techniques, left ventricular-right atrial communication has been reported with increasing frequency. Recently we experienced 2 cases of left ventricular-right atrial communication, which were corrected surgically. Preoperative diagnosis was incorrect In both cases as ventricular septal defect. The type of defect was supravalvular in case 1 and case 2. Both cases were successfully closed with the aid of extracorporeal circulation and discharged with good results. [KTCS 1981;4:399-402]
