Hydatid cystic disease of the lung is rare in Korea. Recently, the authors encountered 2 patients with this disease who were treated surgically with a successful outcome in both. The first patient, a 27 year old housewife never traveled outside Korea and the second, 25 year old man had a history of spending a year in Kuwait. These 2 cases are the first documented cases of pulmonary hydatoidosis among Koreans reported in the literature.[KTCS 1983;4:518-525]
