24 cases of surgically proven ovarian teratomas were analized. 1. The most prevalent age group was 3 rd decades(57%). 2. The size of moste tumors falls into 5-15 cm (96%). 3. The site of involvement was more common on left side than right. 4 . Well developed teeth or bones were identified in 9 patients on simple abdominal films (39%). 5. Ultrasonographic findings of the tumors were purely cystic in 3 cases (12.5%), mixed in 15 cases (62.5%) and solid in cases(25%). 6. Among mixed typed masses predominant cystic tumors were 11 cases, and the remained (4 cases) were predominantly solid type. 7. Vaious ultrasonic findings were seen such as hair-fluid level, linear echoes, scattered echoes, nodular intermixed dense echoes, papillary echogenic mass, and calcifications. 8. Echogenic nodular foci on nondependant port8ion were considered to be a helpful diagnostic sign of ovarian.
