For the purpose of producing twistless yarn, we installed the necessary devices on the spinning frame and we spun the twistless yarn. This twistless yarn can be used to weave woven fabrics. The following results are derived from comparing the characteristics of the two fabrics: twistless-yarn fabrics and ordinary twisted-yarn fabrics. 1. Cut-strip strength of twistless-yarn fabric shows nearly same values as that of ordinary twisted-yarn fabric in case of dense plain fabric. 2. Twistless-yarn fabric shows better flexibility and softer handle compared with that of ordinary twisted-yarn fabrics. 3. There is no significant difference in number of pills between two kinds of fabrics. 4. The twistless-yarn fabric shows higher compressibility and lower compressive resilience than ordinary twisted-yarn fabrics.
