한국산 똥풍뎅이과의 분류학적연구중 마지막 종류인 통나무풍뎅이족(신칭)과 모래풍뎅이족에 대한 검토를 하였다. 이 결과 국내에서 현재까지 전자에 속하는 종류로서는 Saprosites japonicus의 1종이 보고되어 왔으나 이의 국내채집기녹은 없으며 분포기녹의 근거도 분명치 않기 때문에 실제적인 한국산여부가 의심된다. 모래풍뎅이족은 4속 9종이 기록되고 있는데 이중 Rhyssemus속의 1종은 모식표본과 기재문의 재검토가 필요하며, Psammodius속중 2종은 서로 형태적변리의 폭이 크게 중복되는 유사성을지녀 자매종의 가능성이 있다.
The taxonomical study on the tribe Eupariini and Psammodiini were reviewed for the korean species. The only one species, Saprosites japonicus, in the Eupariini was recorded in spite of this is very doubtful. The Psammodiini was reported 9 species of 4 genera, but we need to be additional study yet for the validity of one species, Rhyssemus koreanus, and the two species (Psammodius sungshinarum and hangangnensis) seems to be the sibling species by their habitats.
