In recent years the use of laminated anisotropic composites as structural members has increased considerably. This arises from the fact that, by taking advantage of its anisotropic material properties and light weight with high strength, the materials can be used very efficiently. They are found in various industries such as aircraft, missile, hydrospace, shipbuilding, transportation, and building construction. Solutions for the deflection behavior of rectangular diaphragm with symmetric laminated anisotropic body under arbitrary normal and shear free edge loads. The boundary conditions are assumed to be one free edge and three-clamped along its edges. In this paper two-varibles simultaneous partial differential equations for anisotropic laminated diaphragm with mid-plane symmetry are derived and Finite Difference method for analysis of them is developed. Finite-difference solution was found that the solutions converged rapidly a few mesh number for this case. Numerical results are presented for a square diaphragm by dividing into 15 square meshes. The deflection curve for the square diaphragm is shown in figures under partial uniform normal in-plane load only.
