This study is conducted in order to examine collapse causes of the tower crane due to brittle failure of a tension bar. Fractographical analysis as well as chemical component test, tension test and Charpy V-Notch impact test for the fractured steel members are carried out. From this study, it is known that the main collapse cause of the tower crane is rapid brittle fracture of the tension bars in low temperature by unsuitable steel used for the structure.
