The processing shrinkage has a direct influence on the mechanical properties and the physical properties of fabric. This paper surveys correlation between the mechanical properties and the processing shrinkage of polyester plain woven fabric and a basic study on hand characteristic of New Synthetic Fabrics. The effects of fabric structural parameters on the processing shrinkage.
