Thls study attempts to determ~ne the c~tedness of a scient~fic research paper wr~tten/published In Korea, one of the scient~fically per~phrral countries and the citednes ot a Korean sc~entist In mathematlc and chemistry. It was found that there is a neglig~ble proportion of c~tatlons In papers by fore~gn scientists to scient~fic l~terature from Korean and Korean sc~ent~sts. Thus, it can be true that Korean sclence or sc~ent~sts make a relatively small contr~but~on to world science: however it 1s also true that the per~pehral journal has ~ t s own scientif~c value follocal area.
