Since fatigue crack in rails can be the source of failures and subsequent derailments, prevention of such failure and design against cracking are of paramount concern to both government and industry. Therefore present paper examined the fatigue behavior of railsteels. Fatigue test have been conducted on the CT specimen of a 60kg-rail steel by using a constant amplitude loading in order to investigate the effect of orientation, cyclic frequency and temperature on the fatigue crack growth property: da / dN-${Delta}k$. Based on the experimental results, it may be concluded that SL-orientation flaws would grow faster than LT -or TL-orientation flaws subjected to equal crack tip stress intensities and that the effect of increased temperature and reduced cyclic frequency on crack growth rates appears to be reduce the slope of the da /dN-${Delta}k$ and to increase the critical stress intensity limit at high crack growth rates.
