The chemical constituents of Selaginella tamariscina were studied. From the n-hexane, chloroform and n-butanol soluble fractions, three compounds were isolated by chromatographic purification process. They were identified as lutein, $3{eta}-cholesterol$ and hinokiflavone by spectral anaylsis(IR, MS, UV, $^1H-NMR$, $^{13}C-NMR$ and DEPT). Lutein and $3{eta}-cholesterol$ were first isolated compounds from Selaginellaceae and hinokiflavone was a reported compound from this plant.
