쌀바구미를 기주로 누대사육한 기생봉 Anisopteromalus calandrae(Howard)와 Lariophagus distinguendus (Forster)의 팥바구미에 대한 기능반응과 수반응을 조사하였다. 팥바구미 밀도에 대한 두 종 기생봉의 기능반응은 쌀바구미에 비해 현저히 약화되었으며, 기주 탐색효율도 현저히 낮아졌다. 쌀바구미에서의 반응곡선의 결정계수는 A. calandrae와 L. distinguendus에서 각각 0.7678, 0.7978이었으며, 팥바구미에 대한 반응곡선의 결정계수는 각각 0.3636, 0.3054이었다. A. calandrae와 L. distinguendus의 쌀바구미 탐색효율은 각각 1.114$pm$0.20, 1.314$pm$0.04이었으나 팥바구미 탐색효율은 각각 0.225$pm$0.06, 0.036$pm$0.006이었다. L. distinguendus의 팥바구미 밀도에 대한 반응은 A. calandrae보다 더 약화되어 기능반응형에서의 변화를 초래하였다. 기생봉들의 수반응도 기능반응과 동일한 경향을 보였다. 이 결과는 대체기주에 대한 기생봉의 기주밀도 억제력이 감소할 수 있음을 뜻하는 것이다. 기생봉의 사육기주와 과녁기주가 다른 경우 기생봉의 대량사육과 살포(mass rearing and inundative release)에 의한 해충 개체군의 방제효율에 의문을 제기하는 한가지 예이다.
Functional and numerical responses of Anisopteromalus calandrae (Howard) and Lariophagus distinguendus (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae) reared continuously on the rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.), to the adzuki bean weevil, Callosobruchus chinensis (L.), were tested. Both parasitoids indicated weaker functional and numerical responses to the various densities of the adzuki bean weevil than to those of the rice weevil. Attack rate of the parasitoids on the adzuki bean weevil was also significantly lower than on the rice weevil. The effect of host alternation on L. distinguendus was more remarkable than that on A. calandrae: Attack rate of L. distinguendus on the adzuki bean weevil was so low that the effect of handling time on host searching was masked. The results suggested that host alternation can play an important role in the host-parasitoid interaction.
