In a hot plate welding, the self-bonding strength development of natural zeolite filled ABS at temperatures above Tg was observed by a lap-shear joint method. At the temperature range of $180~260^{circ}C$, self-bonding srtength was found to follow a $t^{1/4}$ law based on the reptation model applying to the interdiffusion at an amorphous polymer-polymer interface. Self-bonding srtength was lower than that of unfilled ABS, which was caused by the reduction of movement of molecular chain and increase of brittleness in the overlapped area by debonding of resin from zeolite. In fracture behavior, shear failure and tensile failure were observed. When natrual zeolite was added, tensile failure due to the crack-like flaw at the edge of the bond was reduced and crack propagation was also prevented. Self-bonding strength was related to the number and depth of plastically deformed ridge, that is, it depended on the flow behavior and compatibility of resin-particle interface and morphology of welded surface. The fracture surface in tensile failure exhibited stress-whitening.
