This paper is characterized as comparison with Abkowitz and MMG mathematical model for the manoeuvring prediction using the Horizontal Planar Motion Mechanism tests at the initial design stage. The MMG analysis algorithm of this paper was studied according to the developed method by the MMG(Mathematical Modelling Group) organized in Japen. The simulation results were compared with those of Abkowitz mathematical model and sea trial, taking a product carrier as an example vessel.
