The Korean government has made efforts to establish ITS (Intelligent Transport System) strategic plans and to implement ITS. Commercial Vehicle Operation (CVO) has been developed in Korea as one of five subsystems in ITS and also in the context of Integrated Logistics Information Systems (ILIS). A low-level strategic plan of CVO is fixed on October, 1997, which has two subsystems and six major services. In this paper, services, requirements and information technologies for CVO are introduced as well as operational tests, deployment cases and cost-effectiveness.
