Only four species of the Valginae under the family Cetoniidae (Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea) have been recorded from Korea. But the two of them except one species, Nipponovalgus angusticollis are misidentified for one species, Valgus koreanus Sawada, 1944 which has been not discovered by the scarabaeologist until recently. On the other hand, Sawada was not seen female and his original description by old specimens are not accurate. So, this paper treats with the description on the female and redescription on the male, and the designation of the plesiotypes for each specimens. The list of incorrect records in the past and some photos are also added for references.
