천연의 다이아몬드 원석을 이용하여 최대한의 중량을 유지하도록 브루팅하는데 있어서 원석 나름대로의 특성 (모양, 광물조직 등)을 가지고 있기 때문에 외형에 따른 중량을 유지하는 깃이 중요하다. 일반적으로 가장 많이 산출되는 다이아몬드 원석을 이용하여 이상적인 디자인으로 브루팅 작업을 한 결과. 팔면체형을 $6.75 imes 6.75 imes 3.83$ mm 크기의 round brilliant 형으로, 십이면체형을 $6.86 imes 6.86 imes 3.95$mm 크기의 cushion barion 형으로, 휀시형을 $6.92 imes 3.78 imes 3.46$mm 크기의 marquise 형으로 연마하였다 그에 따른 소모율은 round brilliant 24.5%, cushion barion 15.5%, marquise 18.7%이었다.
This paper is a study on the method that it is bruting a peace of a rough diamond with keeping the maximum volume of it. When a diamond will be bruting, how to keep the maximum diameter of one is very important because of its own characteristics that include shapes, mineral characteristics, and so on. In the middle of bruting. concentrating on the work is also required because girdle will be break down. We tried to bruting with gaining maximum diameters of rough diamond. As the result. an octahedron is made into the round shape with size $6.75 imes 6.75 imes 3.83$ mm , a dodecahedron the cushion shape with size $6.86 imes 6.86 imes 3.95$mm , a fancy the marquise with size $6.92 imes 3.78 imes 3.46$mm . Their rates of loss are round brilliant 24.5%, cushion barion 15.5 %, and marquise 18.7 %, respectively.
