Blends of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) and poly(trimethylene naphthalate) (PTN) were prepared at various ratios and their miscibility and thermal properties were investigated. The analysis of DSC thermograms indicates that the two polymers are immisible. The glass transition temperature (T$_{g}$) of PTT in the solution blends melted at 26$0^{circ}C$ for 2 minutes and quenched in liquid nitrogen increased with PTN content while that of PTN decreased with PTT content. As the melting time of the blends at 26$0^{circ}C$ increased, I$_{g}$ of PTT increased and approached an equilibrium value in PTT rich blends, but that of PTN decreased then levelled off in PTN rich blends. The crystallization temperature increased and the melting temperature decreased with melting time. The component polymers crystallized respectively in the case of solution blend samples, but as the melting time increased the crystallization of the major component occurred preferentially. Crystallization of only PTT was observed in the PTT rich blends, but crystallization of both components, PTT and PTN, could be observed in the PTN rich blends.nds.
