본 연구는 편목업무 메뉴얼의 웹환경으로의 구축을 통한 효율적인 활용방안을 모색하였다. 자동화 및 네트워크의 도입과 디지털매체의 증가에 따라 수서 및 참고봉사를 비롯한 도서관 업무에 웹을 활용하는 방안이 다양하게 모색되고 있다. 하지만, 편목업무의 경우 개별 도서관에서 행해지고 있는 규칙과 규정이 통일화되어 있지 못하고 도서관간 공유를 위한 협력도 이루어지고 있지 못한 실정이다. 따라서 편목업무의 공유와 실질적인 협력 및 표준화를 위해 개별 도서관에서 편목업무를 Web 환경으로 구축하고 이를 공유할 필요가 있다. 즉, 편목업무를 웹 환경으로 구축함으로써 편목업무에 대한 접근성을 높이고 최신성을 유지할 수 있다. 또한, 편목업무 담당자간의 커뮤니케이션 증진과 도서관간 협력 및 정보공유의 장으로의 역할을 통해 궁극적으로는 편목업무의 표준화를 위한 기초를 마련할 수 있다.
This study aims to find the way how to operate cataloging work effectively and share it between libraries through web based cataloging manual. There have been various trials in using web based tools in ether parts of library such as acquisition and reference service. However, in case of cataloging. the rules and policies of each library are not united. and any cooperation In sharing them between libraries is not done. Therefore. for Information sharing, practical cooperation and unification in cataloging work, each library needs to make web cataloging manuals and share them. That is, building the web based cataloging tools makes it easier to access the cataloging works and keep them updated. Additionally, it could improve the communication between the librarians who are in charge of cataloging and provide the chance for cooperation and information sharing between libraries. With these roles, web based cataloging manual could be the basic for standardization of cataloging.
