본 연구는 성인지 교수전략을 활용하여 공대 교수의 수업을 분석하고, 수업 개선을 위한 멘토링을 실시한 결과를 바탕으로 공대 여학생에게 적절한 수업을 탐구하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 한 명의 공대 교수의 수업을 한 학기 동안 비디오로 촬영하여 이를 4회기로 나누어 분석하였다. 연구 참여자는 수업 분석과 성찰일지 작성, 수업개선을 위한 멘토링을 통하여 수업의 변화를 보였다. A 교수의 수업은 대략적인 계획에서 구체적인 계획으로, 자신의 수업에 대한 만족에서 수업에 대한 의문과 변화 시도로, 부정적인 지적에서 긍정적인 지도로, 교수 자신의 기준 강조에서 학생들의 다양성 인정으로, 부정적인 지적에서 긍정적인 지적으로, 현재 상태의 부정적 진단을 통한 엔지니어 의식고취에서 현재 부족한 부분을 메울 수 있는 구체적인 정보 제공으로 변화하였다.
This study is to investigate an effective instruction for female students in an engineering classroom through gender -sensitive teaching strategies by analysing recorded classroom instruction, reflective journals of professor, and mentoring instructions of A professor teaching "non-steel materials and design" in an engineering classroom. This study which used a qualitative approach for data collection and analysis showed changes of A professor in his way of teaching. The changes are: making rough lesson plan ${ ightarrow}$ making detailed lesson plan being satisfied with his teaching skills ${ ightarrow}$ trying to improve his teaching skills, using negative feedback ${ ightarrow}$ using positive feedback, pointing weaknesses as pre-engineers ${ ightarrow}$ providing detailed information needed to be engineers. This paper deals with the theory comparison between a conventional engineering education and new engineering education, in which conventional models may fail to give satisfactory results. Finally, we provide real application examples to evaluate the feasibility and generality of the proposed method in this paper.
