A thermoresponsive poly(VCa-$co$-fluorophore) hydrogel labeled with fluorescent dye was prepared using conventional radical polymerization. A poly(VCa-$co$-fluorophore) copolymer consisting of N-vinylcaprolactam (VCa) and 2D-${pi}$-A type pyran-based fluorescent dye (fluorophore) units behaves as a temperature-driven fluorescent thermometer. This polymer in aqueous solution underwent a phase transition at $27-45^{circ}C$. The morphology of the internal microstructure of the poly(VCa-$co$-fluorophore) hydrogel was observed using SEM.
