최근 사용자가 원하는 비디오를 효율적으로 검색하여 제공해줄 수 있는 기술에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 비디오 검색에서 보다 양질의 검색 결과를 얻기 위해서는 비디오 내용을 명확하게 기술하는 정확한 주석 정보가 필요하다. 주석 정보는 대부분 사용자에 의해 수동 생성되는데, 이는 매우 번거로운 작업이며 체계적으로 주석을 생성하는 데에 한계가 있다. 이를 개선하고자 다양한 주석 생성 시스템들이 개발되어 왔으나, 여전히 사용자의 많은 노력을 요구하고 다양한 종류의 주석 생성에 제한을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 편리한 인터페이스와 다양한 자동 및 수동 주석 생성 지원 도구를 갖춘 비디오 주석 생성 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 특히 제안하는 시스템은 객체들의 시공간 정보를 효율적으로 저장 및 색인하고, 이로부터 시공간 관계를 자동 생성 및 관리할 수 있다.
Recently the requirements for efficient video management and video retrieval technologies arises rapidly. In order to achieve high quality results in video search, the annotations that precisely describe video contents should be required. In most cases, the annotations are manually created by users. Such manual annotation processes not only require too much time, but also have some limitations on creating well-organized annotations. Although many annotation systems, which are designed for overcoming such problems above, have been developed, they still require lots of efforts for annotations. In this paper, we design and implement a novel annotation system that provides a convenient user interface, various kinds of automatic and manual annotation tools. In particular, the proposed system is specialized in efficient creation and management of spatio-temporal relationships among objects. We can generate semantically rich and abundant video annotations easily by using our proposed annotation system.
